UFO Report Australia Independent reporting platform

Australia's independent UFO reporting platform

Report sightings. Preserve evidence. Discover the truth.

A trusted place for Australians to report unexplained aerial phenomena, share evidence, research official records, and follow credible sightings with discipline instead of sensationalism.

Why Trust UFO Report

Every case is reviewed using a structured evidence methodology.

We distinguish between confirmed, unresolved, explained, and under-investigation reports. UFO Report aims to document sightings carefully, preserve evidence, and separate witness claims from official records, media coverage, and editorial analysis.

Report witness accounts, images, video links, location, date, and review notes
Investigate aircraft, satellites, weather, astronomy, archives, and corroboration
35+ yrs professional media standards applied to evidence preservation

Why I Started UFO Report Australia

It began with a silver craft over Burwood.

When I was 12 years old, I witnessed an unexplained silver craft hovering over my school in Burwood, Victoria. That single event sparked a lifelong search for answers and ultimately led to the creation of UFO Report Australia.

UFO Report Signal Map

Location search, top sightings, and high-signal review in our own interface.

This section folds the best public UFO-reporting app patterns into UFO Report: a searchable map, signal scoring, alert lanes, and report clusters. Users stay inside UFO Report instead of being sent to another platform.

Top signal lanes

Reports that deserve a second look.

UFO Report scores cases by source quality, event detail, media context, and whether they have obvious explanations to check first. Scores are editorial triage, not proof.

New York orb cluster

Signal 82

Multiple public-report references, repeated orb descriptions, and regional clustering make this useful for timeline and aviation checks.

Melbourne light formation

Signal 74

Strong candidate for structured review: witness timing, drone exclusion, flight traffic, satellite passes, and weather need to be matched.

Rendlesham historical reference

Signal 68

Kept as a benchmark case because it shows how witness accounts, official context, and interpretation diverge over time.

Hokkaido resolved-pattern example

Signal 41

Useful as a training case for identifying ordinary explanations before a report is escalated.

Sao Paulo cylinder report

Signal 63

Urban reports need camera corroboration, aircraft exclusion, and repost checks before they move into the high-signal lane.

Australian records desk

Australian government records are now one of UFO Report's strongest source lanes.

UFO Report treats Australia as a dedicated research desk: declassified archive files, RAAF-era search paths, FOI monitoring, state records, famous cases, and new witness submissions all feed into original UFO Report case pages.

Archive path

National Archives RecordSearch

RecordSearch is the main research doorway for older Commonwealth files. UFO Report's intake checklist searches for UFO, flying saucer, unusual aerial sighting, UAS, RAAF, Department of Air, and Air Intelligence before drafting a case page.

Search RecordSearch
FOI watch

Department of Defence disclosure log

The Defence FOI disclosure log is monitored as a live source lane for future UAP-related releases. Entries are treated as document leads until the underlying file, date, agency, and exemption notes are reviewed.

Open Defence FOI log
State archives

Police, local government, and state records

State-level searches are separated from Commonwealth records. UFO Report tracks Western Australia, Victoria, and South Australia for police reports, correspondence, local archive files, and regional sighting material.

State Library of Western Australia
Classic case lane

Westall, Valentich, Woomera, Pine Gap, Nullarbor

Major Australian cases now have a dedicated editorial route. Each page separates the original event, government or archive trail, witness material, media claims, and open questions.

New Australian witness reports

Fresh Australian sightings submitted through UFO Report appear in the Asia-Pacific report board first, then move into the Australian desk once the date, location, witness count, media, and ordinary explanations have been checked.

Founder

Why UFO Report Australia exists.

A personal mission to document sightings, preserve evidence, and give witnesses a respectful place to be heard.

The question that started it What Did I Just See?

Every unexplained sighting begins with someone asking a simple question:

"What did I just see?"

For me, that question began over 50 years ago.

As a 12-year-old student in Burwood, Victoria, I witnessed an unexplained silver, oval-shaped craft hovering silently above our school oval. A group of us watched it together before running inside to tell our teachers. That evening, the television news reported the object as a weather balloon.

But those of us who witnessed it knew it wasn't.

That experience stayed with me throughout my life and sparked a fascination with unexplained aerial phenomena that has never faded.

Over the years, I've had several other experiences, including while travelling in London and during my career filming corporate productions across Australia. On more than one occasion, I've witnessed something unusual that simply didn't resemble any aircraft I was familiar with.

After spending more than 35 years working professionally with cameras outdoors, around airports, public events and filming on location, I've become very familiar with the appearance and movement of helicopters, aeroplanes, drones and other conventional aircraft. Every now and then, however, I've witnessed or captured something that didn't fit those categories. Those moments only strengthened my curiosity and my determination to better understand what people are seeing.

My work in video production has also provided an unexpected insight into this subject.

Through my business, Atlantis Digital, thousands of people have trusted me with their precious memories by bringing in VHS tapes, camcorder recordings, film reels and other archival media for preservation. Over the years, many ordinary Australians, particularly older people with no interest in social media, artificial intelligence or creating hoaxes, have quietly shared extraordinary stories with me while dropping off their recordings.

Some have spoken about strange lights, unusual aerial objects or unexplained events they witnessed decades ago. Others have asked me to examine footage they had recorded on old VHS camcorders because they had captured something they simply couldn't explain.

These weren't people looking for publicity. They were everyday Australians genuinely trying to understand what they had seen.

Hearing these accounts year after year reinforced something I had already come to believe: there are many sincere, credible people who have experienced anomalies they cannot explain, and their stories deserve to be documented respectfully and investigated objectively.

That lifelong curiosity ultimately led to the creation of UFO Report Australia.

This website isn't about convincing people that every sighting involves extraterrestrial craft. It's about documenting what people are seeing, preserving evidence, investigating credible reports and encouraging open, respectful discussion.

Our goal is to approach every report with an open mind, allowing the evidence to guide the conclusions. Many sightings will likely have perfectly ordinary explanations. Others may remain unexplained. Both outcomes are valuable because every well-documented report contributes to a better understanding of what is happening in our skies.

With more than 35 years of professional experience in television, video production and digital media, I'm committed to applying the same standards of documentation, evidence collection and responsible reporting that I've used throughout my career.

Whether a report is ultimately identified or remains a mystery, every witness deserves to be heard, every piece of evidence deserves careful examination, and every investigation deserves an honest assessment.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Middle East red balloon - resolved

UFO Report summary: AARO assessed the slow-moving spheroidal object as almost certainly a consumer-grade reflective foil balloon based on morphology and wind behavior.

Unresolved

Europe 2024: PR-018 and PR-017

PR-018 used infrared footage and was judged to show a physical object with ordinary visible behavior. PR-017 used phone footage that AARO said was insufficient for a determination.

Resolved

Europe 2023: PR-016

AARO assessed the recorded objects as almost certainly birds, citing morphology and flight characteristics such as relative positioning and wingbeat-like infrared pulses.

Resolved

Europe 2022: PR-004 to PR-010

Several cases in this cluster were assessed as balloons or not anomalous, showing why UFO Report keeps a "resolved" lane next to unresolved reports.

Africa

PR-001 to PR-003

AFRICOM cases include unresolved thermal signatures and migratory-bird assessments, useful for comparing sensor limitations with biological explanations.

UFO Report vetting checklist

Before sharing a clip as unexplained, check exact location, date, time, camera model, direction of view, weather, flight traffic, satellites, Starlink passes, drones, balloons, flares, lens reflections, and whether the clip has been reposted with a false date or place.

Editorial rule: public reports are leads. UFO Report writes original summaries, attributes sources, links back to originals, and avoids copying report wording.

Copyright and source-use policy

UFO Report Australia publishes original writing, summaries, layouts, and analysis. External databases, official archives, videos, sky cameras, and scientific feeds are linked or embedded only where the source provides a public pathway. Copyrighted witness reports, private databases, third-party articles, and private media are not republished without permission.

NASA, NARA, AARO, DVIDS, NSA, NAA, and other linked source names remain the property of their respective organisations. Links and embeds are for research attribution and do not imply endorsement.

Official career pathway

Join the U.S. Space Force through official recruiting channels.

UFO Report keeps research, reporting, and career pathways clearly separated. This area links visitors to the official U.S. Space Force recruiting site and public service information for people who want to explore becoming a Guardian.

U.S. Space Force career gateway

Use the official recruiting website to explore eligibility, careers, officer and enlisted paths, benefits, and application steps. UFO Report does not collect recruiting information; visitors should apply only through official government or recruiting channels.

  • Explore Space Force career fields and requirements.
  • Use official recruiting forms and contact paths.
  • Review public U.S. Space Force information before applying.

Editorial policy

UFO Report writes original articles instead of copying source reports.

Third-party public databases are treated as research leads, not content to republish or link as copied report material. UFO Report's workflow is designed to protect copyright, improve search quality, and add useful analysis for readers.

Safe reporting workflow

  1. 1
Read the original report and identify the claim, location, date, source, and uncertainty.
  2. 2
Verify facts with independent sources where possible: weather, aircraft, satellites, local media, archives, or official imagery.
  3. 3
Write a new UFO Report article from scratch in our own words.
  4. 4
Add analysis: what is known, what is missing, and what ordinary explanations should be checked.
  5. 5
Cite the source and link to the original without reproducing its wording.

Original article template

Use this format for third-party witness material: record the source internally, then publish UFO Report's original summary and analysis.

Example rewrite format

Source note: a third-party witness report described an unusual aerial object over Nevada on 14 May 2026. UFO Report has not independently verified the event. Our review would check aircraft activity, satellite passes, weather, camera metadata, and whether similar reports were filed nearby before classifying the case.

Rule: summarize facts and add analysis. Do not reproduce the original report's wording unless a short quote is necessary and properly attributed.
